100GBASE-BX80 QSFP28 Bi-Directional Optical Transceiver

The 100GBASE-BX80 QSFP28 Bi-Directional optical transceiver is designed to deliver 100 Gb/s Ethernet connectivity over single-mode fiber (SMF) with a transmission reach of up to 80 km, using LAN-WDM bi-directional wavelength technology.
The module operates over a single fiber strand by transmitting and receiving on complementary wavelength sets, enabling efficient fiber utilization in long-reach applications. In this configuration, the transceiver uses four LAN-WDM wavelengths per direction and must be deployed together with a corresponding module or network interface using inverse transmit and receive wavelengths.
The transceiver supports hot-swappable installation and provides Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM/DDM) via an I²C interface in accordance with the QSFP28 MSA, allowing real-time monitoring of operational parameters such as temperature, voltage, transmit power, and receive power.
The 100G BX80 BiDi ZR4 transceiver is suitable for 100G Ethernet, data center interconnect (DCI), metro networks, and storage area networks (SANs) where long-distance, single-fiber connectivity is required.
