800GBASE-DR8 OSFP PAM4 Optical Transceiver

The 800GBASE-DR8 OSFP optical transceiver module is engineered to deliver 800 Gigabit Ethernet throughput over distances of up to 500 meters on OS2 single-mode fiber (SMF) using a 1310 nm wavelength. The module employs dual MTP/MPO-12 APC connectors and a parallel DR8 optical architecture based on PAM4 modulation.
Compliant with OSFP MSA, CMIS Rev 5.0, and IEEE 802.3cu / IEEE 802.3ck standards, this transceiver ensures interoperability across modern 800G Ethernet platforms. Integrated Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM/DDM) enables real-time monitoring of critical operating parameters.
The twin-port OSFP Closed Finned Top design is optimized for air-cooled Ethernet switches and high-density systems. It supports flexible deployment in spine–leaf architectures, switch-to-switch interconnects, top-of-rack (ToR) to network adapter links, and connections to BlueField-3 DPUs in compute and storage servers. This makes the module particularly well suited for HPC, AI workloads, and hyperscale cloud data centers.
Closed Finned Top Design – Explained
The Closed Finned Top design features a finned heatsink enclosed by a protective top cover, forming a closed airflow channel. This structure provides:
