800G OSFP InfiniBand NDR DAC Twinax Cable, Passive, OSFP to OSFP, 28/30AWG
The NVIDIA/Mellanox InfiniBand is a high-performance 800Gbps (2x400Gbps) Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cable featuring twin-port OSFP connectors on both ends. Utilizing the OSFP (Octal Small Form-factor Pluggable) interface, the cable integrates eight high-speed copper pairs, each capable of delivering up to 100Gbps. It fully complies with the OSFP MSA and IEEE 802.3ck standards.
DAC cables provide ultra-low latency and are commonly used in data centers for short-reach, high-bandwidth interconnects — connecting servers and GPU nodes to top-of-rack (ToR) switches or linking spine and super-spine layers within the rack. They are also ideal for building InfiniBand storage fabrics with HDD and flash memory arrays.
Thanks to their passive design and minimal component count, DACs offer a cost-effective, low-power, and low-latency solution for high-speed connectivity. They are essential for optimizing bandwidth density, reducing energy consumption, and maximizing configurability in hyperscale and high-performance computing environments.
