800G OSFP to 4x 200G QSFP112 InfiniBand NDR DAC Breakout Cable,  Passive, OSFP to 4x QSFP112, 28AWG

The NVIDIA/Mellanox MCP7Y40-N0xx is a high-performance 2× 400Gb/s twin-port OSFP to 4× 200Gb/s twin-port QSFP112 Direct Attach Copper (DAC) breakout cable. The OSFP connector utilizes an 8-lane twin-port finned-top form factor, engineered for use in Quantum-2 and Spectrum-4 switch cages.
At the breakout end, each of the four QSFP112 connectors delivers 200Gbps, using two lanes of 100G-PAM4 modulation. These connectors feature a flat-top design, optimized for use with ConnectX-7 adapters and BlueField-3 DPUs, particularly when riding heat sinks are installed on the connector cages. The cable is fully compliant with industry standards, including OSFP MSA, QSFP112 MSA (Multi-Source Agreement), and IEEE 802.3ck.

As a passive DAC solution, this breakout cable is designed for short-reach, high-speed connections, offering ultra-low latency and minimal power consumption. It is ideally suited for linking servers and GPU systems to top-of-rack (ToR) switches, as well as establishing spine-to-super-spine interconnects within rack systems.
DACs are also a preferred choice for constructing InfiniBand-based storage fabrics, enabling high-throughput links between compute nodes and both HDD arrays and flash memory systems.

With a minimalist design and no active components, DAC cables offer the lowest cost, lowest latency, and near-zero power among high-speed interconnect options — enhancing port bandwidth, signal density, and energy efficiency in both hyperscale and supercomputing environments.
