The 800G OSFP to 2x 400G QSFP112 InfiniBand NDR DAC Breakout Cable, Passive, OSFP to 2x QSFP112, 28AWG
The NVIDIA/Mellanox MCP7Y10-N0xx is a high-performance 2x 400Gb/s twin-port OSFP to 2x 400Gb/s twin-port QSFP112 Direct Attach Copper (DAC) breakout cable. The OSFP connector features an 8-lane twin-port finned-top form factor, optimized for deployment in Quantum-2 and Spectrum-4 switch platforms.
Each QSFP112 breakout connector supports 400Gbps throughput via four lanes of 100G-PAM4 signaling and uses a flat-top form factor, making it ideal for ConnectX-7 network adapters and BlueField-3 DPUs that integrate riding heat sinks on the connector cage.
This cable adheres to industry standards including OSFP MSA, QSFP112 MSA (Multi-Source Agreement), and IEEE 802.3ck, ensuring broad interoperability and reliable performance.
As a passive DAC, it is specifically designed for short-reach, high-speed interconnects in modern data center architectures. It provides ultra-low latency and extremely low power consumption, making it ideal for connecting servers, GPUs, and DPUs to top-of-rack (ToR) switches, as well as creating spine-to-super-spine links.
DACs are also widely used to build InfiniBand storage fabrics, providing high-throughput connectivity to both HDD and flash memory systems.
With its minimalist design and no active components, this DAC breakout cable delivers cost-effective, low-latency, and energy-efficient performance—maximizing port bandwidth, density, and scalability in hyperscale and supercomputing environments.
