NVIDIA/Mellanox MCP7Y60-H0xx Compatible 400G OSFP to 2x 200G QSFP56 InfiniBand HDR DAC Breakout Cable, Passive, 28/30AWG
The NVIDIA/Mellanox MCP7Y60 is a 400Gbps InfiniBand HDR passive breakout DAC cable that connects a twin-port OSFP interface to two 200Gbps QSFP56 interfaces. Designed for high-performance environments, the OSFP end features a finned top form factor optimized for use with Quantum-2 and Spectrum-4 switches. The breakout ends feature flat-top QSFP56 connectors, ideal for ConnectX-6/7 adapters and BlueField-2/3 DPUs equipped with riding heat sinks.
Each QSFP56 connector supports 4x 50G PAM4 channels (totaling 200Gbps), while the OSFP end aggregates the bandwidth to 400Gbps. The cable adheres to both OSFP MSA and IEEE 802.3cd standards, ensuring compatibility and signal integrity.
DAC cables provide ultra-low latency and are widely used for short-reach connections within racks—such as linking servers and GPUs to ToR switches, or interconnecting spine and super-spine layers. They are also a key component in building InfiniBand storage fabrics, connecting HDD and flash-based systems.
With a passive twinax design and minimal component complexity, this breakout cable offers a cost-effective, power-efficient, and high-performance solution for hyperscale and supercomputing environments. It enhances port density, bandwidth utilization, and energy efficiency across high-speed interconnects.
